Supporting the Indegenous Batwa Minority in Western Uganda

Some of the indigenous Batwa after receiving some of the relief items like soap provided by LOCIFU

These are the most marginalized and poorest minority ethnic group of people in south-western Uganda. These people face highest level of discrimination from by the society members but this is not the case with LOCIFU.

We have always considered supporting these people with discrimination and give them support. For example, we have responded when these people are hit by emergencies like now in the times of Covid-19m pandemic, we have responded by giving these people immediate life –saving needs like food, hygiene kits etc. In the photo, you will see them receiving posho and soap and LOCIFI distributing hygiene kits.

We have also involved in providing vocational training skills to these indigenous people and educational support whereby currently, we are sponsoring 12 indigenous students in secondary school being paid by LOCIFU.
