Community Support on HIV Prevention & Management
LOCIFU’s major goal is to improve and expand health care services for underserved people. Our HIV/AIDS Program provides a comprehensive system of care that includes primary medical care and essential support services for people living with HIV who are uninsured or underinsured.
The Program works with local authorities and local medical health units to provide HIV care and treatment services to many People living with HIV.
We also advocate for the respect of the rights of the people living with HIV in local communities. We empower the communities to take in decisions that affect their health; mobilize communities for health programs, and strengthen the delivery of health services through referral and linkage at house-hold level.
LOCIFU is the only community based organization that working in the area of HIV prevention, treatment, care and support among people who use drugs and people in prison to ensure quality HIV services that are tailored to their needs. We work with HIV peer educators, Counselors and Village Health Teams (VHT’s) in carrying out massive HIV sensitization in the local community.
