The Local Citizen Foundation Uganda (LOCIFU) is a civic non-partisan, not profit-making non-Governmental local community-based organization legally registered with Rubanda District Local Government in south-western Uganda.
At Local Citizen Foundation Uganda (LOCIFU), the local community and the vulnerable people in particular are always at the centre of every action we take.
Vision
To accomplish a passionate commitment to social obligations towards vulnerable communities, fostering sustainable and integrated development, thus improving the quality of life of the people most forgotten by the society
Mission
To play the role of a facilitator for the benefit of the people without distinction of caste or community, sector, religion, class or creed, in the fields of Education, Women empowerment ,Community health, and promotion of social and economic welfare and upliftment of the people in general especially those forgotten by the society.
OUR OBJECTIVES
LOCAL CITIZEN FOUNDATION UGANDA (LOCIFU) was started to address the challenges faced by the vulnerable people. The following are the objectives of the Organization
- To provide Community Support for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
- To promote the skilling of the Women, youth and disabled (PWD’s) in our local community.
- To Promote Sustainable Community –Based Agriculture and Other income Generating Activities (IGA’s) for development.
- To promote biodiversity and Environmental Conservation.
- To provide Community support on HIV Management and Prevention.
- To Provide decent housing for the vulnerable people.
- To provide community support on disaster response and disaster risk reduction (DRR).
- To advocate and lobby resources from stakeholders and development partners to provide basic needs and psychological support to the disadvantaged orphans, widows and the elderly in Uganda.
