General Civic Education
LOCIFU has been carrying civic education while executing its duties, for example our staffs have been carrying out radio talk shows on freedom radio, and voice of kigezi, educating the people on various issues like elections, security, conflict resolution, land rights, domestic violence, agriculture, and environmental degradation.
Through these radio programs, people have been able to understand their rights and how to go about challenges of life. LOCIFU staff has been visiting churches and different communities to interact with communities and educate them on particular issues in communities. CONFLICT RESOLUTION & PEACEBUILDING LOCAL CITIZEN FOUNDATION UGANDA (LOCIFU) has been working hand in hand with local leaders to resolve conflicts in communities in Rubanda, particularly land conflicts, domestic violence.
We have been able to do this because LOCIFU understands the costs of resolving conflicts in courts of law. Many land conflicts have been settled, many cases of domestic violence have been handled and victims have been resettled after guidance and counselling.
